I've joked many times that my oldest daughter, Michelle, needs to become a critic or a literary agent. She's excellent at pinpointing exactly what she likes and doesn't like about books, movies, musicals, basically anything. So, when she randomly announced, "I really like this book I'm reading!" I had to ask her all about it.
Read MoreThe Last Weekend has an eerie feel to it. I mean, just look at that cover! It is reminiscent of old-style suspense such as Agatha Christie or Christopher Pike. The smooth and inviting style of the writing draws the reader into this delightfully creepy castle in North Carolina with an intriguing cast of characters.
Read MoreWild Ride Cowboy is a story of dealing with loss, living with guilt, and finding a way to let yourself be happy. On the surface, that doesn't exactly sound like a story that you'd find yourself reading with a goofy grin or even laughing out loud. But, I did both of those.
Read MoreThe Coldest Fear has a chilling plot. The story is told through multiple characters who all have something to hide and something to lose. The way everything came together in the end made sense (which I always appreciate) and, of course, left some dangling threads for the next book.
Read MoreSeeing Red is everything a reader expects from Sandra Brown. Plot lines that intertwine a way you don't see coming but logically unfold. A little humor, a few HOT love scenes and ending that drops your jaw but makes perfect sense.

Read MoreI am a fan of Sharla Lovelace's witty writing style, authentic characters, and down-home settings Her Charmed in Texas series brings all that together in laugh-out-loud, sexy stories about people you'd loved to have over for dinner.
Read MoreI could not read this book fast enough. Just like the car careening down the twisting road, once the plot takes off, it doesn't slow down.
Read MoreMy previous experience with Kathy Reichs is her collaborative short story in Matchup. I've heard great things about her Temperance Brennan series so I was excited to be approved by Netgalley for Two Nights because I hoped to become more familiar with her style and this is the first in a new series.
Read MoreThis book reminded me of Forever by Judy Blume or Up in Seth's Room by Norma Fox Mazer. I realize those books are ancient at this point, but the message is still the same: Teens are going to have sex. It's okay for girls to want it as much as boys. And, it's okay for them to responsibly explore those feelings without anything tragic happening. I appreciated the empowering message of the story and honest portrayal of Maggie and Levi's relationship.
A fun, sweet and sexy without being cliche or cheesy.
Read MoreContemporary romance isn't always my thing. I'm a mystery/suspense girl. I usually prefer some mortal danger with my relationship building, but I loved Alison's sense of humor and I extra loved a plus-sized character who was not ashamed of her curves.
Read MoreThis book renewed my love for short stories. I found some new authors that I can't wait to check out more from and snuggled in with some old favorites. I loved the premise of having characters from well-known series interact. I also enjoyed the introduction to each story that described the writing style of the individual authors as well as gave insight to the process the team used to create the story.

That's how the beginning of this book was for me. I was hooked! The lyrical word choice and beautiful description enticed me right into the story.
Read MoreThis story grabbed me from the first chapter and didn't let go. I almost had to cancel lunch with my husband because I was at 87% and NEEDED to know what was going to happen!
