Still on the hunt for something to make me laugh, I reread Teri Anne Stanley's Accidentally in Love with the Biker. This might have been cheating a little because I love Teri's dry wit and quirky characters and I'd read it back in March. But, my life has been through the spin cycle since then and I'd forgotten enough of it to enjoy a second reading.
The story is a familiar play on the "Fake Boyfriend" trope but the characters are fun and likable enough to keep the plot from feeling tired. Kellie is a bookstore owner by day but erotic romance writer by night. She's in Vegas for a conference to make a last ditch effort to sell her manuscript and save her store when she's rear-ended by a hunk o' burning love on a motorcycle.(no euphemism intended. He bounces off her trunk, literally.)
What comes after is a quick, sexy read where no one is exactly what you expect them to be. Even the secondary characters, which is a great surprise because I spent most to the book wanting to bust a champagne bottle over one's head and have a sit-down-sister-to-sister talk with another.
My favorite laugh out loud scenes involved seriously intense, fake sex and dinner at the romance convention through the hero's point-of-view. Guess we might look a little odd to an outsider. Teaser for you: "Bisexual Wereparrots".
I would recommend this book to my writer friends who will find some parts of it almost too true to be funny in our little world.
It's also a great read for anyone who has ever wanted a short escape from reality with a hot, bad boy.

I first featured Teri three years ago as my critique partner. You can read the awesome interview
. Today, I am beyond excited to be featuring her again on the release of her debut,
I love Teri's ability to work humor and sarcasm into her writing voice. I mentioned her sharp wit in our first interview. It shines through in her book.
So, tell us about your story, Teri!

Teri Anne Stanley lives in Northern Kentucky, near the Ohio River and her beloved Interstate-
75, with its lush rolling semis and musical rumbling tires.
Teri has authored several scientific articles—and a three-ingredient recipe column, but isn't allowed to write sex scenes for them, so
now she writes fun, sexy romance filled love, angst and nekkid parts.
She's also worked
as a fashion designer for female body builders and a sex therapist for rats. In her spare time,
she is a neuroscience research assistant.
Along with a variety of teenagers and dogs, she and Mr. Stanley live just outside of Sugartit, which is—honest to God—between Beaverlick, and Rabbit Hash, Kentucky.
